PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES AND COMPLETE THE PRESS CREDENTIALS
APPLICATION. NOT ALL APPLICATIONS WILL BE APPROVED.
Press credentials are limited. All media affiliates must wear wristbands and press credentials to
have access to the Indiana Convention Center.

ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY FRIDAY, JUNE 22, 2012.
Applications received after June 22, 2012 will not be considered. Applicants will be notified no later
than July 2, 2012.
YOU MUST BE ON ASSIGNMENT TO COVER EVENTS DURING THE 42nd ANNUAL SUMMER
CELEBRATION PRESENTED BY 1-800-QUIT-NOW TO RECEIVE A WRISTBAND AND MEDIA
BADGE.
If your intention is to attend the event for a story on only one artist or presenter and not the entire
Summer Celebration, you will need to be credentialed through that artist or presenter and make
your own arrangements to meet them once you are onsite. Without an official Indiana Black Expo,
Inc. credential, you will NOT have access to the media area.
An editor's letter emailed to communications@indianablackexpo.com is required for all affiliated
freelance photographers and writers. We will not accept any applications from freelance
photographers or writers who are not officially on assignment for a publication.
College newspapers and web-based publications can send writers only. We will not grant
credentials to college photographers or website photographers. Certain special circumstances will
be reviewed and decided upon individually.
LOCAL/NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL MEDIA OUTLETS:
All interested publications must complete the official 42nd Annual Summer Celebration Presented
by 1-800-QUIT-NOW press credential application. A detailed letter from the editor on official
letterhead about the assignment (for reporters AND photographers) must accompany your
application. All applications will be carefully screened by the Indiana Black Expo, Inc.
Communications Department.
WEB ZINES and BLOGGERS:
Web zine writers and bloggers MUST provide specific information about your site in the description
section of the application. Credentials for web zines and bloggers are extremely limited and will be
evaluated closely.
FREELANCE PRINT MEDIA:
We will not accept any applications from freelance writers who are not on a confirmed
assignment. An editor's letter must be emailed to communications@indianablackexpo.com on
publication letterhead at the same time as your application or it will not be considered.
PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Only photographers with SLR, interchangeable lens cameras will be allowed into the restricted
areas. Point-and-shoot cameras will not be permitted.
